hey jim....checked the numbers this morning and they are 30# inj. as per the list on gntype.org....so i talked to someone this morning and they said same thing....cam sensor timing or chip...i am pretty sure my cam sensor is on the money...so i guess a chip is what i am going to have too do....

Does your check engine light come on at all??? Did you check for any codes???

And the big one...IS your MAF sensor plugged in??? A bad MAF would make it run like crap...Do the MAF tap test...take a screwdriver and tap on the MAF with the handle(but not too hard) and see if the car stumbles at idle...If it does, you need a new MAF...With a scan tool hooked up, what kind of MAF numbers does it show at idle and with the key on/engine off???

Also with the car running, unplug the cam sensor and see how it runs...

Just some more things to look at before you get a chip...

Let us know....

I believe he has the stock 85 ECM/MAF/chip...

HEY NOKA72, you do still have the 85 ECM/MAF/chip, right??? If not, why didn't you say so??? :D

Need more info...

whats up guys......i am using stock 85 ecm, stock chip, stock maf....so i talked to postons today and i asked them do you suggest a chip for the injectors and cam im running....postons 107t...so he tells me these were designed for use with the stock chip a perf. chip is optional...so the problem im experiancing is not in the chip right now get it running then do the chip...so i explain to him that when i plug the fuel pump back in it starts too load up...i let it run on whats in the lines it smooths out....so he tells me if the reg. does not hold pressure for at least a few hours the reg is shot...so he is betting on the reg.....like some of you said..what do you think...

Did you do anything to your injectors when you were rebuilding the motor..?? I made the mistake of soaking mine stock injectors in some cleaner I believe it was chem-tool. Wrong move..when I noticed the paint starting to come off I yanked them out... I was just soaking the very bottom figuring to knock off some old tarnish. Put the motor back together and got it running but it liked to flood... I had to feather the gas pedal to get it started..but if I gave it to much that is when it washed the cylinders....fouled plugs the whole gammit. But it would run...I took it to the Buick dealer cause I couldn't figure it either. They hooked it all up and really couldn't find anything either. I took it home and just figured the only thing I did was put those injectors in that cleaner. Bought some green stripes and have not had a problem since. Long story but it kicked my a-- for a couple weeks.

hey whats guys....i had an hour today before i went too work so i tried the stock regulator for the hell of it...and no dice...same thing...runs good till you put fuel pump on then nothing but a black cloud out the tailpipe:eek: .....i have this funny feeling im putting the stock injectors back in just too see:mad: ...hey matt i didnt soak them in anything too harm them......this car has never takin a fit like this boy.....

Good Luck NOKA......I would put my money on your injectors..let me know what happens.
