Help out a newb!!!

I have a few questions regaurding my new GN.

1-The cruise control doesnt work.Where should i start?Fuse?

2-It has a sqeek from hell in the dash.What should i do to find it?I have tightned every bolt/screw to no avail.


3.Should i use Vaseline on the t-top rubber?Alot of people tell me this.Is that a myth?

1. Make sure the switch on the brake pedal is adjusted properly. One way to check this (as well as TQ lockup) is to gently pull up on the pedal while cruising, then try to set the CC. There are of course several things that will make it inop, but this switch is an easy start. Does the "cruise" light on the dash turn on ?
2. First try lubing the hood bumper that's just forward of the windshield. Many guys complain it makes noise.
3. I don't think it could hurt. The worst it could do is make a mess. Why do you want to do it, just out of curiosity?

This hood bumper is outside of the car?And no,the cruise light doesnt even come on.

Yeah. Open the hood, it's in the cowl.

Open the hood and you should look right between the 2 windshiled wipers near where the center of the windshield, there you will find a rubber bushing sticking up that meets the hood (when its shut)
Put grease on it because it makes a noise that you would think its coming from the center of the dash... Right in the middle of the firewall sticking up!

If the cruise light doesnt work.... First, are you using it correctly???

My dad bitched about his not working for 2 months, i get it in and had to show him how to use it. :biggrin:
Get up to speed, push button at tip of stalk. Does the light come on?
If you even tried rotating the stalk for resume, and nothing happens, check the fuse under the dash, and check to see if everything is plugged in under the hood too.
I would think that its just a blown fuse.
