help please driveability prob. off boost--have lots of preliminary checks done

please help i just bought an 86 gn and it has a bad problem. it has no codes stored and all data from the tech 1 seems ok. it stumbles bad sometimes, has a steady skip at 50 mph, and is slow to build boost. the car is stock and i have checked all the wires, plugs, and coil pak. on a cold start it revs up and stalls. after about 3 starts it will try to stall and recover. it runs fine once it builds boost, it hauls! it just seems terrible until it is boosted, it seems like about 3 seconds of lag.... please help!!

Check the Mass air flow sensor. While the car is idleing, tap it with a srewdriver handle. If it stumbles, you've found your problem. That's a start...

i tried that and it seems to no affect it, un plugging it also doesn't help from what i can tell. it has a flowmaster and it feels like an ignition skip but all the ignition parts check out ok.
