Hi, my name Chris and I have an 87 Regal T that I just had repainted. The paint shop did an awesome job on the paint job itself, but the emblems don't quite seem to be in the right places.

I've searched and searched, but I can only find emblem placement diagrams for GNs. Does anyone have the exact measurements (pictures would be even better) of the stock placements for all the emblems (hood, front and rear fenders, and trunk)?

Any help would be appreciated... even though I don't know exactly where the emblems are supposed to go, I do know that they're in the wrong places now, and it drives me crazy every time I look at my car!

Thanks,
Chris

might want to...

find someone local with the same car and measure off of it....
i made exact measurements and photographed every trim piece before i removed them for referance later.....just my 2 cents

I realize that I'm new here, so I'm not looking to cause any trouble, but I really don't think that talking down to me will help me with my situation. If I knew of another 87 T in my area to take measurements from, I wouldn't have scoured the internet in search of the measurements. Second, as I mentioned in my initial post, the car has already been repainted. So, unless you were going to share the pictures and measurements from your car, how does just telling me that you have them help at all?

I love my car very much, and I take great pride in it. I found this board on the net and (naively, I guess) thought I would be able to get some real help from serious, like-minded turbo Regal owners. So, understandably, your response was really disappointing. I would have preferred that you just told me you couldn't help... Honestly, I already feel bad enough about my car right now. Was it really necessary for you to add insult to injury by going out of your way to point out that you had better foresight than I did?

Lastly, for anyone interested, I was fortunate enough to get a call from my mechanic today. He just so happened to get an original 87 T in for some work, so I was able to go down and take measurements off of that car.

Should anyone else need pics or measurements, please let me know and I'll be more than happy to share.

Hey, brother, before you go off and throw down...

Welcome! I think you'll find that this is a great place to learn, share, and enjoy everything about these cars. I KNOW you'll find that most everybody will toss in any help that they can to help new folks get the most out of their cars.

On the forums home page, there's a section towards the bottom that lists the regions of the country. There are plenty of local get togethers, as well as national meets (happened last week); I suggest that you get together with guys local to you, and pick their brains.

Freight train was just giving some advice about what he did- and I'll bet that he still has the pics and reference material- AND I'll be that he'd be more than happy to send them to you.

Data for you;

Hey man, thanks for the response. Like I said, I wasn't lookin for a fight, but I already felt stupid enough for not taking the measurements before repainting. It just seemed as Freight train was trying to make me feel even more stupid by pointing out that he took measurements before his paint job (especially since he didn't offer to share them with me). However... if that wasn't the case, then I sincerely apologize to him for the misunderstanding.

Thanks again for your response, I really appreciate you taking the time to dig up those measurements for me. I feel a lot better after seeing that that the measurements from your links are spot on with what I got off that other guy's car at the shop today.

No problem! I usually err on the side of misunderstanding (except for political debates :D )- keeps my BP down!

Where are you located at?

Here's a pic of the quarter emblems if you also need them. Sorry I dont have the exact dimensions but eyeballing it should be easy to do. Just make sure the word Regal is on the same line as the taillamp bezel center bar.

I've got pictures and the dimensions from my '86 - your '87 could be different but they're yours if you want them.

That's probably what I should have done, I was just so upset about my car that I let my emotions get the best of me :). And to answer your question... I'm in Ft Lauderdale.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate you offering the help :). Actually, I was lucky enough to snag the exact mesasurements off an original, never repainted T that my mechanic happened to get in for service a few days ago, so I'm good.

Thanks again!

There are a ton of owners down your way, including the alkyholic himself, Razor:cool:
