ok i opened my hood the other day and just under the powermater unit there is a rod there....im not sure what it is called but there is a rubber boot on the end of it.....all screwed up with heat damage and the like....i need to replace it but well id like to know what it is and where i can get the part etc.... thank you! Rod is about what....?? 1 foot long maybe? about 1" thick?

Are you talking about the steering shaft arm?
thats the only thing that matches your description?

hmmmm well id have to take a look again but not 100% sure. if it is that what the part for the boot and should i get this fixed asap?
