Hey, this is a nice place :) As of recent, one of my cars (a 1990 lincoln LSCSE) was totaled. I am looking to get something as a replacment to it. I have always loved the buick GN. I have a couple of easy questions that shouldn't take long to answer.

#1 how much room is there in a buick GN? The reason I ask is because I could be considered bigger then your average guy. I stand at almost 6'7" with my shoes, and I am pretty skinny and weigh in at 200 pounds. I have found that very few cars actually fit me well. Either my head rubs the roof, my knees hit the dash, etc. So I was curious to know if I would fit well into a GN

#2 as far as reliability goes, what are the known weekness of the GN? Weak transmissions/rear ends/ ????

#3 I am confused between the diffrences of the buick reagal t type, and the GN.. Whats the diffrence?

Thanks guys, your newbie friend, Greg

The GN/Turbo Regal is fairly roomy. Find any G-body and have a seat...that'll tell you what you need to know. It would be fairly easy to remount the seats further back if need be...

Weaknesses - Fuel system (easily upgraded, nost already have been) and stock trans (easily beefed), other than that, not much.

Reliability - as reliable as any BUT, remember, these are old cars and will need to be freshened as needed. If the health of the car is good, I wouldn't make this a consideration.

Differences - All turbo Regals (of the same year) are the same mechanically/performance wise. The 86 & 87 are most popular (and expensive) because the were intercooled and had some other mechanical upgrades compared to the earlier ones.
The different designations (GN, T type, Turbo T etc..) were appearance options and nothing more. Turbo Regals were available in all colors and trim options...the only true indicator of a Turbo Regal is a VIN 7 engine code. Exterior give aways were badging and the bulge hood (these could easily be swapped so watch for fakes)

They are great cars and by far, my favorite that I've owned. Make sure when/if you get serious about buying, find someone in your area familiar with them so you don't buy a headache you don't want.
