Awhile back there were some threads that offered help to fix the lack of a high speed fan setting for the heater/a/c blower motor.....Paul, your instructions were extremely good ! But I'm not getting power from the plug in connector on the firewall side (the male end of it). I did a test and ran a wire from the female side of the connector to the battery and the hi speed fan setting worked........so, my problem is the wire that you can't see, trace, etc is dead and not providing power to the relay.
My question is whare does the red wire originate from and does it have a fuseable link (I'm sure it does) but I can't trace it........it looks like it goes into the ecm harness in the passenger compartment.......

Can anyone offer any help to me on this problem?? Can I run a wire with a fuse from the female side of the connector to the battery to get the power I need to run the hi setting for the heater/a/c without powering what ever the connector goes to other than the blower relay??

Thanks for your help guys!!

The red wire to the relay should be hot at all times. It comes from the starter post thru a fusible link.

The orange wire is the usual culprit. It comes thru a connector right by the fender and the connector usually burns inside from the high current.

If you have no power at the relay on the red wire, the fusible link is probably gone.

If you have no power at the relay on the orange wire, when the key is on and the fan is on high, jump the connector.

I'm not sure what Paul helped you with, but there is a conection that gets very corroded on the inside of the passenger side fender near the antenna. It is a black connector that has a heavy gauge red wire. This is probably what Paul helped you with but if not, clean this connection and that may cure the problem.
