i was driving back from work in my 455 i just got it painted jet black with some white stripes that go on the ram air hood, but anyways i pulled up against this GN and i really like this car so i gave the guy the thumbs up he smiled and then i looked ahead and it was a straight road with not that much traffic do i signaled him to race me we took off i was surprised that little 6 was right with me at the end he beat me i was really surprised and jealous so i fouled him to a cheveron gas station and asked him what he has got done to it he said that he has 22 pounds of boost when he beat me and good racing gas with some real good tires and 4:11's out back i was impressed because my car has 385 hp and a lot o torque but i was running 87 and goodyear all seasons, i love buicks can u tell me where to get a good X pipe set up i have a straight dual exaust setup and would like the X pipe? well those GN are one bad machine.

thanx

i tried jegs and there too much so ill try those other ones what kind of car do u drive?

1/4 time

lol, i cant find a track that will stay open long enough for me to make a run! got any 350 buick parts?

ya i got some 350 parts

hey my buick with a 455 with me sitting in it is 3975 and yes i have 350 rods, heads, hooker header and valves there from my old car i had a 1970 350 buick. all mint ill give it to ya for 1500 takes all!

i think i missed something was that rods, heads, headers and valves for $1500..

must be some good heads

yeah, those 455s had gobs of torque. my dad has a 1971 GS 455 with 345 horse and like 480 Foot-Pounds torque. e z to spin those tires eh?

1970 GS 455 Stage 1

The 70 Stage 1 455 was rated at 360hp and 510ft-lbs of torque... It had the most torque of any of the muscle cars including the Hemi which was rated at 490ft-lbs of torque... BTW, the 360hp rating is BS cause my dad's friend dynoed one and it made about 400hp... Buicks have always made a lot of torque and the GN's little 3.8 liter V6 was no different making 340ft-lbs of torque with a sh!tty horsepower rating of 245... I think the horsepower rating on the GN is also BS, but I wonder if anybody has ever dynoed a completely bone stock TR???

I dont know what his would be worth to you, but I polan on Dynoing my TTA before I start modding.
THen My first MOd is goign to be a hot wire kit folloed by the Alky injection, then adjustable wastegate with a Thrasher chip. After that I am going to head back to the Dyno and see where I am. Then next stage will be down pipe with dump, K&N and MAF pipe. THen back to the Dyno.
I plan on running about 22psi of boost on the Alky.
SO I fugure about 300 or so HP at the wheels stock as close to the LS1's. I am not sure where those mods will get me, but hopefully low 12's.
My goal for the TTA is to make it to the 11.99 time range on 110 or less octane gas(cause there is a station near my house that has it) and DOT approved tires. I dont care about the dump. That will be my little non street legal cheat!

Kyle

That would be great if u could post the results of your TTA being dynoed completely bone stock... I would think the TTA's horsepower numbers would be a little more than that of a TR, but either way it would be great to hear what they make completely bone stock or even with a couple mods... It would give us an idea of what these cars make stock and I also think it's great how your going one mod or a couple mods at a time and then going to dyno the car to see what u gain from each mod... I wish I would of thought of that, cause I didn't give it much thought and I never really got an accurate number of how much I gained from each mod I did, although, I did go to the track and saw how much I gained ET and mph wise which can pretty much tell u how much horsepower u got from each mod... Anyways please keep us updated on your progress cause I'm sure there are others interested to see how well these cars do on the dyno stock and with little bolt on mods:)

WEll it will ba about 2 years before I go into modding the car because I am still in college and have about a year and a half to go yet before I am done. Then I am going to buy anbother project car to be working on opn the side along with the TTA, but I can decide what one. I am thinking of building White 90-92 Mustang GT up with a Turbo so I can have Both Muscle cars from the late 80's Early 90's with a wierd sound under the hood. THough If I can I would much rather finding a low mile GN that I could afford to build slightly and make a daily driver out of, but I dont think I could take a low mile GN and drive it all the time.

nice car 1969_buick455
those stage 1's pretty rare? with the 455 it's so true there is no replacement for displacement (except for a turbo)! TORQUE RULZ
