HID's turn off at WOT, but work normal during cruise/idle

I installed an aftermarket 6k HID kit 2 months ago for my low beams only. Never had any issues till now. Noticed 2 days ago, during a WOT burst, that my headlights turn off at WOT, then turn right back on as I let off .

During idle/cruise everything works fine. Checked the Scanmaster and battery is at/around 13.7 volts. Does the engine take a good electrical strain durinig WOT to cause this?

Do you have a volt booster? If you do, remove it and see if it does it again. I "think" the HID ballast will shut down if there's too much voltage going to it. Not 100% sure though. Voltage that's too low will make them turn off. You might have to check the voltage supply to the ballast during a WOT blast.

I haven't had a problem with mine doing it though...

I will check that tonight. I do believe I have a voltage booster for the fuel pump. Would that be the same thing or no?

Volt booster would be behind the the alt. If you do have one remove it and get a hotwire kit for your full pump. Hope that helps..
