in my boredom last night i was reading old posts in this section and i remember someone was looking for a higher stall TH-350C converter.
kenne-bell might offer what you all are looking for. I dont know if any of the carb/turbo cars came with TH-350C's or not...but this should really help you guys.
the product description reads this...
"approx. 400 more rpm stall at 6psi boost. boost kicks in sooner, less lag, easier to launch" it then goes on to say that at 0psi boost it will stall at 1700 rpm and at 6psi it will stall at 2800rpm. i assume that for the N/A guys it will stall higher than 1700rpm on a car with mods. it is something to maybe consider...
the converter is 450 bucks...kinda steep and who knows this converter could just be a stock rebuild...call them and get some info on it...
