Highest boost w/ stock turbo?

How high in boost can the stock turbo go before you don't gain anything? I heard somewhere that after 22-23 psi the stock turbo is worthless, is this true?

I have a CAS V4 now if that matters.

I ran 24# boost with the stock turbo.
It gave me the ET in my sig below

I'm still experimenting with different boost levels and timing
advance. The Maxeffort 16 and EGT meter have opened a
whole new world of tuning for me.
So far it seems like the car likes more boost better than
higher timing.

I have also ran 24# and went from 12.70's @ 22# to 12.54@ 24 # with no knock on good gas.

The stock turbo will not produce much to anymore power after 23 PSI. The intercooler will not make the boost range of the turbo increase.

but wont a better intercooler take away some of the added heat from more boost therefore making more boost from a stock turbo more effective?

with my stock turbo i had it up to 23 lbs and ran a 12.2 @ 112 but this was on a cold night...stock intercooler...i tried 24-25 lbs and redlined the knock meter because it was blowing too much hot air...22-23 lbs is about max...

I run 22-23# with my stock turbo and that seems to be just about it for my setup. If I turn the boost up to 24 or higher it seems to provied no more power. Probably too much heat from being too inefficient. A bigger intercooler might help but you are still only going to get so much air thru that small turbo. You can go to gnttype and use the "port your stock turbo" information to increase the flow slightly. I am presently doing some chip testing to help tuning this combo.
