Is it possible to hold boost at the line with vacuum brakes? Last time i was at the track i couldn't hold any boost the car would just move on me. Im wondering if i did something wrong when i installed it or if this is common?

Thanks

I can get about 6 psi on the brakes. Did you get the larger soft compound shoes for the rear? (Kirban sells them)

You can always do the footbrake/emergency brake combo to launch.

When you buy a rear shoe kit from the store, you get two large and two small shoes. The kirban kit is 4 large shoes and they are a softer compound.

Larger = better holding = faster wear, but I have had mine for 2 years or so and they are still in great condition.

no reason vac shouldn't hold

replace the 20+ year old rubber lines , bleed the brakes

soft shoes (4 organic long friction shoes) can help hold more , you can by two sets and have 4 long or get them from www.kirbanperformance.com
larger s10 wheel cylinders (ask for 85 w/manual brake)

be forewarned these will help hold more boost but you could also find them scary or just anoying on the street with early lockup in wet weather or jerky stops at slow speeds

With this combo I can hold over 10 lbs but Its too much as the tires just break loose on me. Watch the wet weather driving!!
