First off thanks to everyone trying to help me out so far. This has been a very patience harding experience. Well I got the holes behind the cam plate plugged, luckily my buick dealership had plugs, they are 19/32 plugs. Best part is he gave them to me for free. New question, the threaded hole to the left of the crankshaft on the front of the lower block (looks like it runs on the same plain as the main bearings), suppose to be plugged or not? Mine isn't and I noticed oil seeping from that hole? I would think its suppose to be plugged to provide pressure to the bearings? If its suppose to be plugged me and a machine shop are fixing to have a long talk.

I think the hole you're talking about is probably the hole that holds the timing chain tensioner spring. You should have a threaded hole and a non threaded hole. Tensioner stud threads in and then a spring loops around it and is anchored in the hole you're talking about. No plug necessary.

Use the spring and tensioner if you have a stock style timing chain. If you're using a double roller then don't use the tensioner and just leave both holes empty. If you need to buy the tensioner, most parts stores call it a "Timing Damper" Autozone had one for 3 or 4 bucks if I remember. Comes with a new spring too.

Yep, I dunno why I didn't think of that. I do have a double roller on and took the tensioner off. I guess I just want to make sure I got everything covered this time and not have to take the front of the engine apart again. Thanks
