chris. is this the shift kit described on your website?

Been thinking about purchasing one. I have a BRF transmission. and was wondering about the drivability of putting your shift kit in. I dont want something that is going to be snapping my neck back at half throttle.(im sure your shift kit doesnt do that) The transmission shifts well and at WOT chirps the tires from 1-2 and almost does it from 2-3. I was going to have a kit put in when the tranny was installed but the transmission guy said once the kit goes in it cant come out. Basically he wanted me to try the tranny out first without the shift kit, since it was the BRF, he said it would be shifting better than most 2004rs anyway.

I also installed a hurst dual gate 2 shifter and was wanting to know with your shift kit if it will make the car shift a little quicker or feel more like a stick or should I not consider this shift kit with the use of the shifter?

I guess Im looking for more of a stick feel without loosing the drivablity all the time. Im going to use the regular side of the shifter about 75% of the time and the race gate the rest of the time to have a little fun.

Are these kits fairly easy to install?

dont know if these automatic shifters wear the 2004r's out quicker or damage internals quicker over time by manually doing shifting it?

If you are mechanically inclinded.the install is simple. The kit works well. 1-2 shift is a little harsh with a stockish stall,you can always use the stock spring in 1-2. Its worth the $99!

manaul shifting will not hurt the trans.steve thanks for the information.we will look into supplying a different spring for the 1/2 shift when using a 12 inch.have you used the kit with a stock spring?

Yes,It was a little softer. When I rebuilt the unit I used a 3000 9x11 and your spring and it's nice!
