I was curious would someone be willing to post the exact years of the 34-36mm hollow sway bars, and which if both are direct bolt ins. Also what bushings and end links do you get. Do you get them for the f bodies or for our cars? Thanks

They came on various 2nd gen F bodies 82-92. They are direct bolt ins and are identical to each other except the size. You can use F body 34mm or 36mm bushings from Energy Suspension, Moog or others. You need to use the stock G body brackets as the F body brackets the holes don't line up. Use the stock size end links for a G body as well. There is alot of misinformation about these bars from people who just guess or state what they have read. I have sold way more than I will mention of these bars and have had both on my car so I am speaking from experience and not guessing. I'm not just pitching my product because I don't even have any to sell right now, but if you would like anymore information I would be glad to help you out or make some recommendations. You could probably find some old posts of mine in the for sale section by searching f body bars.

Your best bet is the 1985-1992 models that came with 16" wheels from the factory. That means look for IROC,Z/28,TransAm,GTA and Formula models. I never saw a hollow bar on a base model. Easy to spot. Just look on the end where the hole for the end links mount. The hollow bars have a vent hole where the ends were swedged and welded. Solid bars dont have the vent hole. Than measure the bar in the area where the center line of the car would run.

I have a 36mm hollow sway bar to put on my GN & need to know which F-body (year, model) these came on so parts jockey can look up/ provide me with proper bushings...Thanks,,,

Okay, so a replacement set of 36mm bushings and Buick endlinks will work for a 36mm hollow bar? I ask becuase I scored one off of 3rdgen.org and will be bolting it up soon. I assume there will be a noticable increase in handling? Also assume some weight savings as well?

Thanks for all your help, Eric. I got one on the way for my GN. Hopefully it will play nice with my fabbed aluminum IC shroud thats also on the way...:D

i ran with out and put it on and i cant tell much of a difference if any from having one and not having one. i think it will be comming off.

I meant 3rd gen 82-92 , not 2nd gen :o

Just tell them 1990 Trans Am GTA. It doesn't matter what year as long as you tell them it's a 36mm bar.

You must drive like I do - in straight lines and crawl around corners  Do you have an ATR or HR rear bar?

Didn't the 36mm hollow bar come on the 1LE Camaro only? I could be wrong.

I once came across a chart from an F body site that listed all the applications of the various size F body bars. Of course I can't find it to save my life, but basically I believe any of the Z-28's, Iroc's, Trans Ams, RS Camaro's, GTA's etc. that came with 16" wheels either could have or will have the 36mm hollow front sway bars. The 1LE is the Camaro version and WS-6 the Pontiac version. I look at every 82-92 F body I see at the junk yards because you never know when someone upgrades their 6 cyl Camaro 32mm solid bar to a hollow 36mm bar. The only car I have seen with a 36mm bar every time is the Trans Am GTA's. I've seen 34mm and 36mm on the Iroc's, but that's not to say that somebody didn't change them, after all those cars are as old as ours and how many are still stock?

Thanks "man of the Forest"--I actually purchased mine from you back in Oct 06. Just thinking about it again now that car's up on stands for line-lock installation...

I've had my power seat to install for much longer than that. Just rec'd rebuilt turbo back from Limit Eng yesterday pm--so will need to put car back on ground for its reinstallation---it never seems to end...

Hopefully mine should be here soon, along with the shroud. Im gonna go check on bushings for it. I have to use Buick endlinks, along with the 36mm bushing and the Buick brackets as well; correct?

Just want to be sure I get the right stuff the first time.
