hey jim sorry to keep bothering you with questions but you dont happen to have a part number on that hooker U pipe from summit do you, i got my summit catalog right in front of me and cant find it, thanks

Go to Summit's site. They have an 18-gauge and a 16-gauge "U". P/N HOK-12280 and HOK-12380.

I don't have info on before/after gains. I pulled my Poston's ram air kit after reading (here) that it's more of a restriction than anything else (air filter enclosed in a fiberglass housing). The homemade kit definitely made things louder, which affects the seat-o-the-pants-o-meter.

No problem. I can't take the credit for the idea - I saw it here first but I don't remember who it was. The threads seem to disappear for some reason. If you're going from stock to this arrangement you'll be impressed with it without a doubt.

My brother has an '02 WS6 TA that he's trying to sell. I showed him the power of the dark side. He has an '87 Turbo T now.

Good luck with yours.

Unlike most people and vendors, I actually put a sheild behind my filter to keep the tire spray from hydro-locking my engine.

Do you go snorkeling often?:D :D No way is tire spray going to hydro lock your engine unless you are under water!

I made mine with a Hooker "U" made for fabricating headers (got from Summit Racing) and some silicone hose I got from Baker Precision. Pics here:

I did the hooker "U" pipe also. It's in the Summit catalog in the exhaust section. Cut it in the center of the bend and connect with turbo hose to direct it in the proper direction. ;)
