Don't waste your money....if you plan to do exhaust go ahead and do a good ss system. My hooker system is less than 3 years old, 2k miles and has rusted out in the 1st bend after the cat. The car is never driven in bad weather and stored in doors. I guess I expected a lot more.

They must have lowered the quality on these. Ive got one on my black car that has been on there for over 10 years and the car is stored outside  . Only a little rusting on the crossover on the outside so far. Maybe the bath of oil it was always covered with protected it. I agree that if you are going to keep the car then you are better off with stainless though.

Not good.. I was planning on ordering one of these soon. I have a hooker catback on my Z28 that is 3 years old and has no rust problems.

I think the rare usage caused the issue since it's just alumanized steel. My last one was constantly driven for 4 years with no issues, I'm expecting the same results with the current one.

Same here, my Hooker cat back system has been on my GN for 6 yrs. with no rust problems.

RARE I have had 3 sets all for years with no issues, the one on my last car was a NE car driven years round heck the floors rusted out and the exhaust is still fine. Think you got a defect I would call them and see if they will replace it definatly not the norm.

Agreed. Thats why id like to see pics. If you call them and point out this thread to them they may do something for you since this will negatively effect their sales and is a legitimate gripe if the exhaust is less than 3 years old and didnt rot out where the mufflers attach.

I just got done swapping mine from my GNX clone to the T-type and when it was apart I saw no rust inside the pipes or mufflers. This exhaust system has been on the car for about 6-7 years and close to 30,000 miles so I cant imagine what went wrong with yours:confused:

I called & emailed their customer service first……I was told that the system only has a 90 day warrantee. So then I ask if the would sale just the ‘y’ section and I was told NO (that’s what really pissed me). I can snap a pic but the exhaust looks new except for the rusted hole about the size of a 50 cent piece.

I'm very happy with my Hooker system. Sorry you're having troubles. :frown:

Call them again and ask them to check this thread out. Ask for a supervisor and be sure you have the pics posted. There is a good chance they will do something about it if you make enough noise.

Sounds like a good ideal.
I spoke to a guy in Reynolds this past weekend and his rusted out in the same place. I think I remember him saying it had under 10k on it.

I would like to see pics also so I know where to keep an eye on mine at. I personally have had Hooker Cat Back systems with Hooker Aerochambers on at least 3 different cars that I can think of, and have never had any problems to date. Sorry that you are having difficulty with your set.

Sorry to hear about your issues,it must have been a defective part.I've got 9 years and 32000 miles on my Hooker system and it hasn't rusted yet.

Talked to Mike Kise at Hooker today.......I Plan to send some pics, will post them here as well.

Guess I'll get to see how good their Customer Service is.

I was considering going with an aluminized exhaust on my latest car after having stainless on my last three... Figured I'd $ave some ca$h to spend else where, but after reading this thread I'm reconsidering. I'm also in the situation where my car is only driven in fair weather a few times a month and garaged mostly....
