Hoses on vacuum block

I am replacing my stock plastic block with a metal one. What are the sizes of the vacuum hoses (from front to rear). Are they just plain vacuum hose or do I need something else? Also, do I need to tie wrap or glue them on? Thanks.

No need to tie-wrap or glue...if you get the correct sizes they should fit real tight...

Don't take the plastic one, take the metal one. If I am not mistaking it is a little different. Been a while

Well the stock vacuum block is plastic. The aftermarket one you speak of is metal. Don't size the tubing with the plastic stock one to use on your metal one. Clear as mud?

"Now I see said the blind man." But the vacuum hoses will have to fit the original metal lines, so I don't know why the metal vacuum block would have different size tubing requirements. I will compare the two blocks when I cut the old hoses off. Thanks.

At least with mine, the metal/aluminum aftermarket vacuum block ports were spaced closer together than the original plastic unit. I do not know why they did this, but I know I could have used a few mils extra space between each port.

Take the block with you. Those guys at the Auto Store say they are giving you vacuum line, but I found most are actually fuel/emissions hose. I guess it saves a few inventory bucks using this "Dual Purpose" rubber tubing. In most cases, I suppose this works fine.

The sizes may be the same (Ex 7/32" inside diameter) but the fuel/emissions line will have a thicker side wall than REAL vacuum tubing, causing a fit problem in this case.

Hunt around for the real deal vacuum tubing. I think you need sections of 7/32 id, 3/16 id, and 3/8 id if I remember correctly.

You can use the emission hose if you are handy with a blade... Cut "Flats" on the outside of the lines to give you enough room, That, and some liquid soap lube!
