Go to You Tube, search for 1985 Buick 3.8L Turbo Engine Dyno Session

360 Hp @ 4700 rpm
440 Ft-Lbs @ 3700 rpm

Too bad you dont have a link.

What are your mods?
TA33 Turbo
Port matched throttle body to turbo inlet bell
T&D Roller Rockers, 1.65 ratio
Comp Cams 206/206 roller cam, springs to match
Ported the stock heads - mild porting, I did it.
Port matched stock intake to heads
I believe I took the intake valve up to 1.771 from stock, exhaust is stock. Both are Manley's
30 over bore
10/10 under mains and rods
ARP rod bolts and chamfered rod caps
ARP studs, mains and heads
Pro balance, < 2 grams.
Diamond pistons
Stock rods with polished beams.
High flow oil pump, TA Performance
Razor's alky
86/87 ECM
86/87 C3I
42 lbs injectors
Walbro fuel pump, I can't recall which, but I was running about 38 lbs of fuel pressure at idle and 14 inches of vacuum
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator, not Red Armstrong's
160 degree thermostat
Stock exhaust with cracks TIG welded shut
RJC deep oil pan, with shelf, ahem, removed
Added block coolant drain cocks
Turbo Tweak chip to match injectors and alky
Calico bearings
Cometic head gaskets
Plugged PCV
Plugged EGR
LT1 MAF with translator
Heated O2
Double roller timing chain
A god awful amount of wiring.

That's all I can recall.

I had just over 16 lbs of boost. No leaks and no knock.

Not bad, its an engine dyno so it would make less to the wheels. Thats probably going to be the exact setup i have next year except i will be on e85, will have up pipe and downpipe, might not be ported heads or intake though, but id like to do a bigger cam.

Cool congrats

Thanks.
A cam with a longer exhaust duration was not given enough consideration for this build.
Can anyone recommend a torque converter? TCI has not responded to my request for a recommendation. My target is street use with occasional strip runs, I'm not trying to rotate the earth.

Based on your numbers, I believe that you have a 12 sec Hot Air... Congratulations. I would put a 2800 PTC convertor behind the tranny...

If you upgrade the headers, downpipe and exhaust system, you could possible add a 100hp. Great job

Thanks.

Only torque converter I have ever used is a Art Carr 3000 non lock up its loosen up over the years I have run it but I love it. John

X3 on the PTC. Also, like cwmccray said....look into header/dp/ex upgrades....will help immensely. Good numbers though.
