I would definitely recommend the Work Turbochargers Stage 1. You do not have to do any upgrades on the injectors or chip. Spools a lot quicker with more hp. The Stage 2 upgrade is what I will eventually go with, that would be accompanied by 60lb injectors and chip from Turbotweek. The car was running great up until a few weeks ago. It now hesitates and pops when it gets to more than 3psi boost. Changed out the coil pack to a 1987 plus the module, new MAF, changed fuel filter, checked fuel pump and regulator, all checks out. Did a pressure test on the boost side of the engine, plus a vacuum leak test, compression is good, tested injectors. Still no change. Wide band numbers are within limits. That’s about it. A little frustrating but I never thought this was going to be easy.

Oil feed setup too turbo can you tell me about it want to do the same and place to get it part numbers? Also is the timing chain the same as 86-87 need to replace mine aswell part number?

I never got that far. The casting from Champion was horrible, I was more concerned about leaking valve cover gaskets, that’s why I chose to stay with stock. Hope this helps.

is there a fix for this issue ? Lots of money for bad quality …… I’m thinking of buying some but don’t want to de with this issue and potential leaks

Honestly I don't know, i would think there are other brands that have good quality workmanship. Sometimes OEM is just better, i would rather have something that maybe doesn't look as nice as an aftermarket part, but is quality built.
