How about a shifter rod?

Bought my '87 GN with a broken shifter. The rod that mates with the handle has a slit in it that a c-clip slides into... mine is sheared off right at the slit. Anyone have such a piece? Preferably just the rod since I bought a new handle thinking it was the problem.
