oh well i can see this thread is for casual fans that only read the headlines.. yall are out getting drunk in the parking lot..im in the stadium watching warmups.

why isnt tebow a hero?...saving lives and defending the country isnt the only way people are heroes... if he inspires one kid to live an honest life, get good grades and give back then he is a hero. the guy uses his stature in life to help people. You can't fault him for athletes making lots of money. There are plenty of athletes that dont do anything positive being in the position they are... there are plenty average joes who dont do anything positive in life.. the amount of money they make it irrelevant. Its about taking advantage of what you do have to do good things and whether you like tebow or not u can;t knock the guy for not doing good things with his life off the field. you asked the question do i think if there wasnt big money in their future would they still play... i think in Tebow's case thats a resounding YES... he was coming off a (GIFT), (HYPED), national championship and a 2nd place in the heisman voting and he still decided to come back and play another year of unpaid football. The guy is living the dream, playing for the school he always wanted...sometimes love of the game is bigger than the money.

all you bitter bastards sit on ur couches and drink ur budweiser and tear apart the truly good people until you are old miserable pricks on ur deathbed wondering if you yourself did enough to get into heaven.

1st of all you are inside the stadium with your man crush for Tebow not viewing warm ups. 2nd I don't drink. 3rd you don't earn your way into heaven. You accept Jesus Christ as your savior. You yourself have worshiped that guy relentlessly in this thread but want to use words towards us all like bastards and drunkards because we don't buy into what YOU buy into as him being a larger than life individual. That and you preaching about a guy being so perfect and edumacating all of us dumb drunk hillbillies means you are a Harvard professor it appears. It is admirable that he does nice things off the field but does not compare to the sacrifices soldiers have and are continuing to make for all of us. To come home and be called a baby killer or spit in their faces. Missing legs, blind, mentally scarred, poor, disabled, etc. Saying God Bless after every sentence you speak, circumcizing little boys in 3rd world countries, and eating up the media attention does not put him near the same level as a soldier. 10 years from now are we going to hear about him touching little boys? Coming out of the closet & marrying Adam Lambert? Who knows. People like you put guys like that up on a pedestal but turn the other cheek when they fall off of it. Nobody is tearing him apart so stop being butt hurt. Well not including the University of Kentucky and Alabama who tore him apart  Just a discussion about how UF got served ;) Not everyone is a bandwagon jumper like you seem to be and again it is a discussion. Nothing for you to want to get angry with your computer screen and start popping more nerve pills

Anyways....UF just got lucky.......Cincy's coach decided to jump ship for a has been team:mad: I guess a contract in the NCAA doesn't mean anything anymore. An assistant coach will be taking over the duties for the sugar bowl.

hmmm

That is stupid but being that cincy has not chance of a national title Kelly probably said to hell with it.

It is still a BCS bowl though. You don't get to play in them everyday lol. I can't blame him....ND probably offered him twice what he was making....and if ND wants you to leave, they pay you 18 mil:eek: Kelly did however tell all his players he was not leaving. Kinda sh!tty he lied to his players imo.

I'm done trying to make a point... Tebow nuthuggery is to strong in this one

No doubt about that. The nut hugging goes further than just football but it seems that when it comes to teboohoo it is relentless. CJ spiller was not even invited for a heisman opportunity but gaybo was. Thought it was for the most outstanding player? Teblewit will flop in the nfl and spiller will be a pro bowl player

FL has 3 and almost had a shot at a 4th this year and miami has 5...FL could certainly catch them.. on the grand scheme of things Miami doesnt have a great storied past..before 82 they were basically nobody. I think the SEC is a bit overated but the ACC is pure garbage.. Miami will never be the power it once was because they have to have accountibility now..they didnt in the 80's and 90's and they ran around lawless and let anybody in the school. too much scrutiny to do what they did then.. heck FSU is down and miami still hasnt been able to dominate in the ACC... they should have never left the big east. USF is more on the rise than miami is. They also tore their tradition down...i dont care how crappy it was the OB was miami football.. the home winning streak, coming out the smoke...they;ll never have that at joe robbie/proplayer or whatever the hell that place is called.. The U will never be that again and to call it that now is a diservice to all the teams that earn that distinction. where do they find helmets small enough for jacory harris lil peanut head? he's never gonna lead miami to the promise land..he doesnt have it in him..hes about as good as scott covington. these U players now are too busy pretending to be tough making rap videos for youtube when guys in the 80's were hanging with luther campbell doing it for real. the golden era is over, i hope u enjoyed it while it lasted because u'll never see it again. I used to hate the Canes like people hated the 70's raiders because they were dirty but they were also great... now i cant even love to hate them because they are irrelevant.

in retrospect it was all down hill for the canes when they took away sebastians crack pipe and bandage... they tried to be to PC..donna shalala or whatever that fithbags name is ruined that place.

while i do agree with some of the things you said, such as: Shalala sucks, the OB with never be replaced, but thats about it. First of all, Miami has 6 Nat'l Championships, not 5. Regardless of what you reply to this particular sentence is irrelevant because i refuse to respond, but we beat OSU in 2002. Period. Everyone knows it...the whistle was blown, game over, and 4 secs later an official from the opposite side of the fkcing field comes running over. Whatever. Secondly, even if we DID only have 5, UF will never catch us. There was a 1-in-a-million thing that happened in 2006 when Dan Mullen and Teblow paired up. As odd as it is, that was just an unbelievable perfect match of coordinator/qb, which is why they won anything. It wont happen again, dont kid yourself. Next, how can you say the ACC is garbage? I believe after last season ended it was ranked above the SEC and behind only the Big-12... Either way, a conference doesnt only have to do with football. Its academics and other sports as well. In basketball terms, every other conference put together still wouldnt make up the ACC, but thats besides the point. Now on to "Jacory's peanut head" - yeah, that makes sense, considering he took basically the same exact team from last year (which was what? 7-6) and has lead them to a 10-win season. Besides that point, he is also on the verge of breaking Bernie Kosar's passing record for a single season...as a first year starter, with 5 sophomores and 1 junior receiver. On top of THAT, last season filling in for Marve he lead 2 come from behind wins and a what, 3-1 record passing to all freshmen? To say Miami will never "be" again is rediculous. We started this season with the #1 toughest schedule in college football and did far and beyond what anyone other than a Miami fan expected of us. Florida, on the other hand,...well lets not even go there. CSU, Troy, and Vanderbuilt really speak for themselves. What class Meyer shows with his #1 ranked team...way to give yourself a challenge and prove you earned your status. But again, that 'Bama game is what you get/deserve. I think you should watch some of the links posted on this thread too - you might learn something about your proud program and superhero Teblow.

Good statement for sure!

By the way college football 2010 is scheduled for release on the wii and has an authentic crying towel included :p

figures thats all you had to respond with...
because thats what i meant...what do want me to say? after watching "the U" i stand by my comments that they will never be or live up to "the U" ever again.. it was short dominating stretch in time and i hope u enjoyed it then. the fact that guys now can ever claim they are the U is a disgrace.

how can you say that? the "most players drafted in the first round", "most players drafted in a year", "longest streak with a player being drafted in the first round", "longest bowl streak", etc. all came AFTER the 80s so to say the dynasty known as "The U" ended back then is nowhere near accurate. "The U" didn't only mean that the University of Miami won games. It had MORE to do with their swagger, which indeed helped aid in winning all those games. But to saw the swag is gone? Please...
Look at guys like Sean Spence TEARING UP homo Teblow last year as a true freshman. He's been hurt a lot of this year, but he comes in for 1 play against USF and gets a sack. Jacory Harris - talking about wearing a pink suit with a diamond-studded pimp cup to the Heisman. Ray Ray Armstrong LAYING OUT oponents left and right as a true freshman safety. No more swag? No more "U"? Nice try.

where did i say the early 2000's teams wasnt the U? hmmm? when they left the Big East they become soft. Instead of getting in fights with Notre Dame and Colorado they picked on Florida Atlantic after they crushed them on the scoreboard...

They had all those guys that acted tough because they were tough... but then they got a crop of kids who acted tough cause they tought it was cool but they were really big p*ssies...K2 was the biggest Puss i ever seen but he would claim the U all damn day like he was from the worst hoods in Miami.. man that boy grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth...i'm not saying he wasnt a good player but you always suspected he was as phony as vanilla ice.

The young men in Cincy got screwed on this one.......
$$$$$$ talks.

I figured Fla. would win but I hope they give them a game or win...
I'm kinda a underdog fan..

And I hate ND.

i dont think people even know why they hate ND...

because they have their own TV contract? they'd actually make more if they joined the big 10

because they have high standards? isnt that what college is really about

because they try to stand for values? something that is seriously lacking in society

YOU said The U ended in the 90s: "Miami will never be the power it once was because they have to have accountibility now..they didnt in the 80's and 90's"

Secondly, it was FIU not FAU we got into a fight with, which tells me i should stop arguing now bc you obviously dont even have a clue as to what you're talking about. On top of that, we didnt start $hit. FIU did bc we were whooping their ass. Leaving the Big East had nothing to do with "going soft" either, which also is not something that happened. Larry Coker was a terrible coach that couldnt recruit. HE is why The U dropped from the spotlight, but not that he's gone we're already back in it.

Thirdly, who the hell is K2? To say that there arent anymore "tough" guys or players who grew up in the hood is rediculous. We've had 2 players shot on campus in the past like 4 years, one of who unfortunately died (rip Pata). Now i'm not saying this is something to be proud of, but do you think every schools has players running out of their apartments with Glock 9s chasing people down the street after being shot in the as$?

It's just the machine. That bothers me.
Had a losing record but still had Clausen in the Heisman race
Losing record but could have got a bowl game.
and yes the TV contract........

Standards should be more strict at the others I will admit.
Several programs are run pretty tight some not. No secrets there.

No doubt they have the Thoroughbred's to get the job done and nothing against the kids.

Just the machine.

To quote Rich Rodriguez: Did you see their linemen. They were eating peanuts off our lineman's helmets...

ok so i mixed up two terrible florida school... my mistake..

you question i dont know what i am talking about and ur a miami fan and you dont know who K2 is? haha KELLEN WINSLOW II!!!!! dont question my knowledge of Canes football ...i know a lot more than you think i do. I watched them beat up on Pitt enough times...but i was there the night on national TV when we brought them down along with the goal posts. I had a friend that was there from 94-98 and my boy is in the law school right now so i talk canes football quite often.. i was talkin with my boy last night about it infact.

its an NCAA rule you need 6 wins to go to a bowl game which ND had at 6-6... the only way you can having a losing record and go to a bowl game is if you play hawaii under the "hawaii" rule that allows you to play a 13th game and you finish 6-7. Most teams at 6-6 would go to a bowl game and ND chose not to because they have higher standards for themselves... I kinda see the point you getting at thou..ND does get preferential treatment getting a better bowl game but bowl games arer about making money and ND sells. Again Clausen was in the race but ND didnt have a losing record..but its not like he got invited to NY...if you look at his stats he deserved being mentioned.. the heisman is NOT an MVP award like many people think...it "MOST OUTSTANDING" if the most outstanding is on a losing team, a defender, a freshman..i dont think they should get penalized for that.

its never a good idea to quote richrod...that guy is a snake.. he snaked the mounties and now michigan is kinda getting what they asked for having any involvement with that turd. :D
