I'm doing rust repair on my roof (stupid t-tops) and need to take out the windshield. How do I do it? It seems like it's just glued in.

You have to cut it out. It's is glued in with urethane (very STRONG STUFF)

You have to use a vibrating knife (special tool for window removal) or they make a "saw" you can use. (essentially it's a fine toothed wire with a handle on each end.)

Better yet, have a glass company R&I it for you. Windows are tricky to get out, let the people with experience do it. just remember, if it breaks while removing, the glass company isn't libel...

I have removed them with a strong wire poked through the adhesive top and bottom and working it across the whole window effectively slicing the adhesive. Its a lot of grunt work but not tricky.

piano wire from a body shop supply house will take it out easy BUT I would also "suggest" havin it done

i jsue cut one out of the race car, i have done it with the 90 degree knife made for glass, it works amazing on the rear andside windows, but the urethane stuff is tough as nails, i HIGHLY recomend paying to have it removed, i wish i had, i got the top and the bottom cut with the tool, but the sides wern't playing, i ended up just busting the dam thing out, powdered glass everywere, don't do as i did
