I did a short sprint with a high 13 second turbo Neon today. He spooled up and took off while I was still at 5 psi and building. Even with a full second of a faster car, it's a bitch reeling in. How can I build boost easiest and fastest while moving? Part of my problem is a stock DP with stock exhaust...but that's gonna be corrected soon.

Downshifting helps alot. It also takes load off of the engine, and generally the lower gears have more timing.

What I(and a few other's around here) do, is ride the brake to build boost while maintaining a constant speed, thenjump off the brake when the car is moving.

If you don't have a grainger/relief valve, that could help too. It just so happens that I sell them(I have a post in the parts for sale section)! Shoot me an email at dcc@japan.com if you're interested.

That's gotta be hell on the brakes. What does the grainger valve do?

Make sure the exhaust is as free flowing as possible.
Make sure the inlet is as free flowing as possible.
Higher stall converter.
Tuning helps also..
Try different chips. Maybe one will work bettter than another.

Ok. I've got the big mouth kit for my 44 and an LS1 MAF on the way. Mease DP and dump on the way as well, and the car has a high stall 'verter already. Only think I'm lacking is the exhaust. Oh, and I have an Extender chip comin too.

Thanks for the tips.
