I'm pretty sure my 2013 Ford F-150 manual didn't say anything about how to break it in. I just tried to vary the RPM's pretty good for about 250 miles, and then took her for an oil change. They looked at me like I was on crack when they saw the miles on the truck. I figured why not though. Oil changes after that are about every 7-10k. So what do you guys do?

Got my 05 dodge ram new and beat the crap out of it from day 1 changed the oil full syn every 7500 and its got 150,000 on it and I'm still beating the crap out of it I believe you break it in the way your going to drive it ! I put a drain plug in the trans pan when I got and drain the trans fluid every other time I change the oil and my trans is stronger than most truck still hauls just my opinion!

New vehicles no longer require break in procedures. You might try being just a little easier than normal on the brakes for the first few hundred but other than that, drive it as you wish.

They are ready to haul whatever the service manual states right off the showroom floor. Dont baby it past the warranty.

Now a days I recommend leaving the break in oil in for at 3k miles. It contains the most zinc your modern engine will ever see!

Wide open throttle.. They build everything idiot proof anymore.. Also like stated above I break in every motor I have the way I intent to drive it.
