Just taking a survey, but what stall are you guys running with a 6262jb? And I don't mean what does the label on the box/website/salesman state, but what is the real stall at 0-1psi? How do you like the 6262jb with your current stall?

Thanks folks!

I'm torn between this turbo and a 5858jb. My TE44 and the rest of my combo are very well mated and I'm hesitant to disturb it. Thoughts are that there is a little to be had by going to the 5858 vs my old school TE44, but then I think I should just go big and be ready when I eventually go through the motor ie: forged internals/caps, etc.

That's why I want to know other people's stalls work with this turbo on the street.

Get a 9.5 NL from dusty and see what that 6262 is really worth. The bar is 10.50's on an unopened engine.

Sounds like a lot of fun but that also sounds like more turbo than I need. I still street drive 98% of the time and don't want a slouch on the street. I'm just not sold on buying another turbo ie: 5858 and possibly getting tired of that in two years or less. I don't like the idea of having too big of as turbo and never running it hard either. I won't run a 6262 over 25psi until my motor is built; I'm not a line pusher... I have a 5 disc Vig now that stalls at a solid 2700rpm at 0psi and want to keep it; just not sure it'll spin a 6262 on the street as I've grown used to with my TE44.

It will do it but it wont be as snappy as the 44 is

Crank and rods are stock; pistons are Speed Pro. Boost was 26# and timing was 24/21.

there is more in your 44,drop the 60ft and make the tune more aggressive especially down low.otherwise porting the head and a ptc and a 62mm turbo would be the next step but you will need to make the tune more aggressive regardless,23 to 25psi on a 44 vs a 62mm turbo isnt much if anything unless the car has heads.

My turbo does ok stalling at 2800 @ olbs...Truthfully i would like a little quicker spool, so with you being use to a 44 don't think you would be happy with that 6262 with your current converter stalling at 2700.....Just my opinion....If I had the money I'd be contacting Dusty as Bison suggested to spool my turbo....

i thought converters were rated at 5 psi not zero. i have a 10 inch 3200 and it revs to 3200 at 5 psi. my factory d5 was 2450 at 5 psi

V6Power, are you still running stock main caps no girdle?

Thanks for all the replies from everyone. I'm going to run the 44 harder this season, in the beginning anyway, with the new Cas V4 and a little more boost and try to get my 60's down with the Hellwig bar but I don't think it'll 60' any better than my airbags. I'll be happy if it's even close, it'll just be nice to have it there all the time vs the bags. If it doesn't pick up much, I think I'll go to a 5858SP. I like my current spool too much and am not ready to go NL TC yet. I'll go 6262 when I can get the converter at the same time. I don't ever want to run a high rpm engine. I'm a fan of my stockish build that shifts at an easy 5k rpms with stock style valvetrain so a nonlock is really the only way to get a good stall and efficiency up top from what I've read. I'm probably just cheap.

I have stock caps with a girdle.

I sure wouldn't spend money on a 5858 knowing I will be going with a 6262 later. Seems like a waste of money. My PTC L/U only stalls 2700 at 0 boost and it works great on the street. Trans. shifts at 5500-5600. JMO.
