How Does Ebay Disputes Work?

I didn't want to steal GNICETRY's post so I started this one.

A friend just bought an enclosed trailer from a guy in AZ. The pictures looked like a nice black trailer but when he got it the guy had huge graphics on both sides that don't want to come off. What he's got off so far shows the outline still and will need to be painted to look right.
The pictures were either taken before the graphics were put on or a different trailer. Then to make things worse the guy advertised it as 4000lbs. empty, my buddy weighs it and it's over 7,000lbs.!! Even if he gets it painted, it will be to heavy for his m/h when it's loaded.
He's contactedthe seller a couple timesand he thinks he did nothing wrong and that my buddy got a good deal, yeah right! So he contacted Ebay and is still waiting to hear what they have to say.
Anyone got any thoughts on what will happen or any other options he may be ableto persue?

If the auction listing was not a proper description of the item then there should be no reason that eBay doesn't take your side. The graphics on the side are bad enough, but to find out that the trailer is way heavier than listed is dishonest information. Just make sure to word your argument clearly and there should be no problem. I have won the few eBay disputes I've had to go through just by clearly explaining my problem.

I think he'll be stuck reselling it as well. It cost him $1500. just to get it to the border and it'll cost the same to get it back even if he wins the dispute which I'm sure he will.
The trailer is in Alberta Can. so if anyone is interested let me know and I'll set you up with him. The trailer is an 06 26' V nose with a party deck on top.
I don't have the link for the auction but am sure I can get it if anyone is interested.
