hopefully i will be getting my car back in a few weeks, since im getting my engine rebuilt due to cam failure & blown head gasket from old previous owner

i was wondering how fast would my 87 GN be with the mods listed below, along how much boost i can go up too...thanks.

60 Lb injectors , 160 thermostat, K&N cold air kit, 3" downpipe with external waste gate & manual boost controller knob, straight no cat stock exhaust, no dump, generic 2.1/4 dual exhaust, scanmaster 2.1, RTS plugs gapped @.032, JE forged Pistons (.20 over), 206/206 comp cam, port/polished stock heads, Accufab fuel pressure regulator, walbro 340 fuel pump w/ hotwire kit, RJC power plate, Duttweiler neck stock intercooler, cometic gaskets, Razor Alky kit. tranny cooler, torque strap, F-Body radiator.

Stock Tranny, stock turbo...245-50-16s in rear (not drag radials yet)

im guessing high 12s since your 60' will severely suffer with street tires and a lack of a good launch. Since you just built the motor I would invest in a built tranny very soon as well.

with good tires and a great launch low 12s are looking good till you upgrade the turbo and get a stall then mid to high 11s are easily takeable.
 
hmm..i was hoping a lil faster...
i evetually want to do the tranny and turbo, but need to recover the funds..this damn car is killing me
now i have to figure out what tranny setup, converter i want thats also can be a DD, and also have fun with it, also the same with the turbo
Anyone know how much HP, my set-up will currently be??
 
Your combo is good for mid 11's with a PT-61 Turbo, 3200stall, hooker exhaust, and a good intercooler.
 
13.20's. With tires and something to read he a/f with you could shave off a second easily. No tires and no wideband realistically you will not see 12's.
 
I see lots of post's like this one where mods are listed and wanting to know how the car will run and it's potential. One thing I can tell you from being a Turbo regal owner for over 10 years is that you can throw lots of go fast parts at these cars and still not run what it is capable of.

Lots of guys get frustrated with these cars because they buy the parts they were told to buy and the car runs way off from what was speculated. This is mostly due to not having any experience with these cars and or racing at all. The biggest thing with these cars is the TUNE........ There are very experienced guys out there going very fast with less than you think, yes they are squeezing the sh*t out of the car with high boost but that is ok with good parts and NO KNOCK!

I would strongly suggest to read a lot and research, when you get your car back get a scan tool as mentioned above and go to the track. Start with low boost and work your way up from there. Once you learn how to tune and do the most with what you have it will cost less in the future(that's the thought anyway:eek:) then you will know what parts to upgrade and have a good idea of what to expect instead of throwing lots of parts at it thinking you have a mid 11's car and run a 13.20 (lots of us have been there at least once:biggrin:)

I was not implying that you did not know what it takes or anyone for that matter. I was simply stating that it is not as easy as bolting on parts and running that number, if was that simple everyone would have a 10.0 car or faster ....... I have seen lots of cars that have the combo for a low e.t but don't run it and not just Turbo Buicks!

Congrats on your ride sounds like it runs good :smile:
