Just a couple of Q's
I'm looking to do the same thing, although I have a Stage I block. I do still have a ways to go though. I've gone 11.18 on 100oct, 24#, only 17* of timing, & a pig rich tune. I also found that the trans & conv were slipping (9yrs old & lots of abuse) & I had a broken valve spring. I have a voltage issue that's not alowing me to tune the chip right now (voltage drops below 10v when starting & it erases the settings), but once I get that fixed & a cage I should start making some good headway to the 9's.
1)Stock 3"
2)6200ish
3)3.42's
4)200r
5)PT-70 P-trim, .85, 3600 vigilante l/u
6)3"
7)83's
8)unported TA's
9)ported stock
10)I have a solid roller w/more than .600 of lift & 230 deg of duration & other than some minor idleling issues, the ECM works fine

V8killR4U,
I would say yes, even the older B2B FAST system has way more capabilities than the stock or modded stock ECM. If you have it with the plug and play adapter harness, I would recommend installing it. You will be pleasantly surprised at the increase in tuning capability, not too mention making more power safely and more efficiently. You tell the computer what A/R ratio you want the motor to run at, and the FAST has a 25% built in + or - correction factor. Meaning it will adjust your fuel curve + or - 25% to help reach your target A/F ratio during a run. The wide band O2 tuning capabilities on the fly and the processors speed are the two main things that make it better than a stock ECM. Once you get a good start up program and get the hang of the screens, what to look at on your datalog after a run and how to change what needs to be changed, it will become second nature tuning with the FAST. Many folks on here with TSM combos have picked up significantly going from the stock ECM setup to a FAST system.
I would say go for the swap. Especially if you already have everything needed to bolt the system on. A B2B system will control 84# injectors to their max flow limits, which should be around 1000 fwhp.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I was on the fence with what i should do. I was just intimidated with learning a new system and did want to hurt my new set up do to my ignorance. I have a few files from some guys on here for pump gas and a race tune, with my almost identical set up except for cam. So hopefully that will be a good base line and im just starting to read and play around with the different tables. We'll see how it turns out:redface:

No 9 sec ECM Guy's out there?

I can believe everyone knows of someone in the 9's w/ ECM
but not one 9sec guy has posted. :(

They just let the cars do the talking.

yup... all the talk in the world is just talk  Melissa ran 10.10 in street trim with her beater with a Turbotweak chip .. looking for 9's and RUNNING 9s are 2 different things :p

Almost There and I still Have Room Left

I'm so close

60' 1.493
330 4.186
1/8 6.446
MPH 108.66

Roy Garcia went mid 9's on the stock MAF AND ECM. I believe he only tuned with a scanmaster too...Correct me if I'm horribly wrong.
