Just wondering. I'm talking in rough shape. Cracked fillers maybe some rust, faded paint, ect, ect. You know what I mean. Have a buddy whose T is in rough shape and he won't drive it anywhere unless its around the block.

hello people; I'am in the mode your discribing. But along those lines I went to a MC event and one of the people I went with would not show his bike because it rained on the way there and the bike got a little dirty. It did look good to me either way. I thought he was nuts.

restored or not

the motor, trans, rear end of my stage 1 was done over but the body needed to be done. It was not in to bad of shape but i didn't care it ran like hell and it was a numbers matching car. Still wish i didn't sell it. Could have parked it next to my GN. Oh well someday i'll have another:frown:

When I first got my 87 IT had rusty smashed doors a rusty decklid, and looked like ****. But damn did it run good. Surprised a guy in a Lotus Esprit turbo on the highwayfrom 60-120 TOO.

My T is currently under construction and as soon as I can make it a driver it will hit the streets. I like the idea of a sleeper that will be primered and not very pretty. I will get her painted ect when I have the budget but the main thing is getting her to the point of driving her.

Drove mine for about 20k like it was in the first pic (before paint), looked like crap but loved every second of it. Then drove it with a smashed passenger fender for a few months until the moron who hit me's insurance company paid out for it (this was two weeks out of paint, I was pissed). Drive the car, thats what it was made for. Of course now mine just sits perfectly in the garage. But when I could only afford one car, I drove the thing everywhere in any condition.

Mine currently has cracked fillers, bubbling paint in areas, peeling paint off the trim, a big paint buffer burn spot in the hood and a flat black header panel that somebody used way too much paint on. I drive it whenever I can. :D

I recently replaced a rocker panel that had gaping holes in it. I still need to do the body filler to smooth out the weld joint. I've had it less than a year. I'll get to it all eventually.

Drove the wheels of several of my cars when they were not perfect. I actually preferred driving one of them instead of the "nice" one.

Exactly, I rarely drive the car anymore because I'm paranoid that it will get stolen, smashed, scratched, rained on, etc:D

I daily drove mine when I first got it for about 60k in 2 1/2 years. Those were the best times I had with this car. I was a student at Temple University in the middle of North Philadelphia and parked it on the street, its a wonder I still have the thing.

My car needs everything either painted or replaced and now is the time to work out all the bugs. Honestly, I want to see if this thing is worth the cost of paint and other exterior parts! Only way to know is drive it like you rented it!!!!!!!

It don't look good, but run Great

:)HI, my 87 G.N. Runs like new and it has 92 thousand original miles.
The car has original paint job and it's faded. I see the actual primer on the car.
I drive it and where ever I go someone wants the car. Everyone asks me if I’m selling the car, it Runs like new. The only thing I have to keep close eye on the car because someone tried to steal the car twice. It don't look good but Theives still want these cars. That is why I try not to dive the car too much. These car attract everybody plus the thieves.

My original owner 1986 T-Type

My car was a daily driver up until 2000. Paint looked like crap, and had the normal filler rot problem, but it still got positive attention. It being white most people had no idea what it was anyway. The car always ran really strong, and was so much fun to drive that i never cared what the outside looked like. The car only has 120,000 on it now, definetly not a daily driver now but not a garage queen either. I have it being repainted now and cannot wait until i can drive it again.
