How many quarts of oil does this motor need when changing and what filter is the best one to use?

I always had good luck with 6 quarts and using an AC Delco PF52 on a stock car that still had the oil cooler hooked up to the radiator.
If you go with the PTE Oil Filtration kit that relocated the oil filter to over in front of the battery, then I ran 6.5-7 quarts and used either a PF35 or a Mobil 1 filter that cross references the PF35. I also run one of Kirbans strong earth magnet, duct tapped to the oil filter for added protection. It's not strong enough on it's own to stay put on hard launches at the track. Not pretty but functional.
One more tip...
Valvoline is your friend.

Just my O2's worth.

Patrick,
I still buy Valvoline - and Mobil - dino oil because you wrote that they bought the best base stocks (is that right?) wayyyyyyyy back when...

Absolutely correct.
Back in my days when I worked for Ergon in MS.
Good memory.

I use a K&N oil filter for the PTE turbosaver. From what i read it doesnt have an internal bypass. I use VR-1 10w30 oil too.

I use 6 quarts of Rotela T 15W40 and a PF52 which is an AC delco filter which you can pick up at a dealer if you didn't already notice.. But to each his own on the oil!

How much do you guys use with a PTE turbo saver and a RJC girdle?

Mobil 1 5W-30 5 Quarts + 1/2 bottle EOS. AC Delco PF52 filter.

Some stuff sticks in the noggin.

I also remember the wording on your license frame...in nitrous you trusted...that was the stuff!
