Hey everyone,

Can someone please tell me how many "teal" 87 turbo Buicks were produced and if they are more desirable?

I'm not sure what the actual color was called but it is the one that is a cross between blue and green.

Thanks,
Larry

Teal was not a factory color on any turbo regals. Closest color to teal would be light blue.

Now that I see the pics I think I have seen 1 or 2 cars in that color, probably at the nats. When you mentioned teal, I was thinking of a much lighter shade.

From memory... as my car happens to be at the shop getting a new headliner....

I am pretty sure there is a tag in the "cowl" area where the windshield wipers settle into. Look on the driverside with the hood open. The tag should have a number stamped on it that has the original paint code.

www.gnttype.org has a paint code decoder (or used to)

MJRWOOD,

Thanks for your responses as well. If this is a factory color, I wonder if anyone knows the actual name of this color.

Larry

thats a factory color. Its 28A dark blue. Not teal.. Seena few . Jimmy Testa has one..

The dark blue is a nice and desirable color, but if anyone tries to tell you that they know even an approximate number of how many were made in a specific color, then they're just blowing smoke up your a$$.
There are quite a few pics of that color on my site in the pics section if you'd like to see more.

Nice car BTW, but I have to throw the flag for the unsportsmanlike selling for the 200 cars comment.

Clay,

Thanks for the response. You have an awesome website. I looked through the various cars and saw a dark blue one and a sapphire one. I've seen some dark blue T's in the past as well. This one seems to look like a mix between blue and green. I'm still wondering if this car is dark blue but I'm sure it is if you guys say so. That's why I am asking the experts.

The owner will be getting back to me on the paint code. By the way, I should say that the owner thought that it ws 1 of about 200 but was not definite on that point.

Thanks again to all that have responded. It is a pleasure to be a member of this site.

untill you get the paint code you really have no idea what color it is sopossed to be.. THEN, the owner could had it custom painted to any color that he wanted. Even soem sort of flip flop teal like he claims..

A few years back at the Nats (97/98) I saw 2 "Dark Blue Metallic" '87 T's parked side-by-side and the difference was like night & day. Both cars were factory original paint too.

The one car was definately a straight Dark Blue but the other looked like it had a little green in it....sorta like the color that was offered in the '86-'87 Olds 442.

Blue was a common color BTW.

troGNman,

The owner got back to me with a paint code of "31" which, according to gnttype.org, represents dark blue metallic.

I want to thank everyone for their help. Now, I am totally confident. This board is great!

Tweaked

There was one that color in Vegas, very rough. A girl had just bought it, maybe 4 years ago? Tweaked, is teal
