Mine got scrapped in 2006..

It looked like new before wife's little sister ran a red light in it. Destroyed both cars....RIP.

I might be going to turbo hell too. I've parted out every single one that I have owned. It's a case of them needing so much work that it's not cost effective to repair them. Rust is what did them in. No repair panels and good stuff in the bone yards are non-existant. I can make them run forever but I cant stop the rust." Its better to burn out than fade away. Rust never sleeps...Neil Young" I am responsable to sending 6 turbo Rivs to the great crusher in the sky. I hope there is some redemption in that thier parts go onto others, so that otthers can go onto more greatness. If I had to guess I'd say that 25% of the turbo cars are still on the road. Maybe someday the values will start to go up when people start to relize how rare they really are. It almost 10 years since the last Riviera rolled off the assembly line. It also marks the last coupe that Buick ever made.

Is it true to say that the ' 84 turbo Riviera convertible I had was one of 11 built that year? Maybe I should have kept it. I know where it is so I guess I could get it back if I needed another project.

Yep its true. I dont know if they are worth anything except to somebody into the Riviera. Everytime I see one for sale it sits forever and the seller almost has to give it away. A few years ago when I had some money to spend I looked at quite a few turbo converts. All of them had rust issues so I passed on them. And the ones that didn't I couldn't afford anyway.
