I am running a stock long block, stock turbo and stock intercooler. I am running a jay carter 110 chip with 36lb bluetops. I am running 25lbs of boost right now with no knock. How high can i turn it up before the heads are gonna want to blow off?

You are wasting your time runningmore than 23psi.
The turbo runs out of it's range any higher.
You will just be pushing hot air!
On a stock turbo type combination keep the boost
around 22 and 23psi and have a chip with a lot timing
bunrt for you. Some people run 32 degrees with the
stock turbo. That does not leave any room for error though.

What times are you running as the car sits?

I agree with John. I wanna EVENTUALLY max out the stock injectors, turbo, and intercooler combination. Everybody I know that runs race gas or alky is keeping the stock turbo in the 22-23 psi range. I honestly think you'll find the car is a little bit faster in the 22-23 psi range than it is right now.
BTW what are you running for fuel to get by with 25 psi and no knock?? Whatever you're doing for fueling, it sounds right. Upgrade that turbo and crank that boost!! :D

Yep, better backer down a bit. I notice that mine slows down if I run more than 23 so I keep her at 22-23..

ks:cool:

back when i was racing with the stock turbo and injectors i once tried running 25-26 lbs of boost and the knock gauge lit up like a christmas tree all the way to the red and i let off very quickly...i have a 108 race chip and 110 leaded gas and thought what the heck??? why is it knocking? but later i found out that the stock turbos efficiency range is up to 23 lbs on a cool day otherwise it turns so fast it's creating more heat than boost and heats up the intake very badly causing the knock...i ran 12.2 @ 112 with the stock turbo and injectors with 23 lbs of boost and that was a cold day with the air temp outside only being 45 degrees...i now have a te-44 and will be running near 26-27 lbs of boost when i get my injectors...lookout!

btw these motors are built very strong for boost and can handle 30+ lbs if you know what you are doing and don't knock...

Thanks for the advice, i will back the boost down a bit for now. I am running 110 leaded in the car. I have only ran the car one time it ran a 13.2@103 on 20lbs of boost. I couldn't hold any boost on the line cause the tires kept breaking loose. I am guessing it would run mid twelves if i can build some good boost on the line and run 22-23 lbs down the track.

My stock turbo has run best at 22 psig with V4 intercooler. When I ran 12.6, I changed my injectors to 38# Lucas.

My timing is set at 40* up to 10 psig and goes down to 30* at about 20 psig (JC VT chip for stock turbo).

All of my best runs to date are on DR's.
