Hey guys how much boost do any of you guys run on a stock 109 block often. I would like to know ,so i can judge if i should turn up my boost or not. thanxs randy

I would like to apologize to some of the people on this board for my crude typin skills ,also because i can't type so pls. forgive me .I have to degrees, but neither are in english or typin. randy

It wasn't in phycology either:D ( answering yourself:D)j/k

It all depends how much KR you want to run I only run .9 degrees of KR at most in 3rd. about 17-18 psi w/ thrasher chip.HTH

No alky. with Sunoco 94, 18psi. in 1st and second, 15psi. in 3rd and 4th.

Alky. is a whole new ballgame. :) 24psi. should be attainable depending on the timing in your chip.

I'm sorry i didn't clearly state my Q. What i meant is in race trim good gas such as,112 octane or up i run 23 lbs of boost know want to go more ,but i am scared to do it plus my car has just a little blowby , but nothing serious so what do you guys think . An by the way want to know max boost some of you have run. randy:p

Personally, I let my knock rating dictate my boost level. Running (3) parts Sunoco 94 with (1) part xylene allows me to get 22 psi of boost with 0 to 1 degrees of knock.

I believe that running any more knock than that over 20 psi is greatly increasing your chances of a blown head gasket.

So does anybody run race gas and more boost then 23lbs, if so let me know tell me if you had any problems. An how often you run high boost. thanxs randy

Randy I have run 27 lbs of boost but that was on c16 and a RA106 chip thats made for lots of boost and low timing. This was in Lena in very warm weather. Personally I would rather go with the RA108 and less boost with more timing. Where in Ms are you at?

I run 26-27 lbs. boost at the track and once or twice a month on the street. Lubrant 110+ race chip, 28 degrees timing, 780-790 milivolts, and no knock.:cool:This is also on Sunoco 110

With a 61 turbo, you should be able to go more than 23#, just make sure you are running NOTHING less than C16. 110 wont cut it at 25-26psi IMO

Keep a close eye and if you get ANY knock turn it down until you get zero

I've been running over 30 psi for several years. I go to the track 3-4 times a year. My tank always contains Phillips B33. My combo is in the sig. The time listed was run in Bowling Green this year and the boost level was 35 psi. I run a RA 106 chip. I prefer more boost and less timing.......as you can tell. :D

Hey stang is this what it takes to get an untouched block to run in the 10s!! 35psi of boost???

I run 27psi a lot. With 112 sunoco, and a prescison turbo engine chip with 26 deg of timing. 0 knock and o2's in the 780's and 790's. I am thinking of rasing the boost 1 more psi.;)

Hey guys pretty awesome numbers there thinks for info keep it comin . Hey striker I from monticello about 25miles east of brookhaven glad to see some mississippi guys on here. Banger where you from and what octane is that b33 i run the b32 in my car now . thanxs randy

Stangbanger, the link is not working for me.

Randy, yeah I know exactly where you are. I have heard of your car I think, I know some people down that way. When I made the 27 psi run, i was actually getting a rich knock with 02's in the 850 range, so I really should have run more boost. That 106 chip programs a ton of fuel and commands really high boost. My car is running much better now with a higher timing chip, guess I should update my sig. I get down that way from time to time (New Hebron area) so maybe I'll run into ya. Sounds like a really nice car you have there.

I'm usually in the 25-26psi range (through the traps with ZERO knock). That's with the PT51 turbo, 26* timing, and 116 race fuel.

I counted the timeslips the other night and I've got 151 runs on this motor, at least 2 dozzen of which are probably in the 11's.

However, the times in my sig aren't very good compared to the combo. I think I've finally gotten it worked out and will get some new times to post... if it would only stop raining!
