How much cutting is involved in installing GBodyParts' GNX rear seat brace

Hey Crowd.

Pulling my interior out to clean up my floor boards, so I was thinking this would be a good time to install a rear seat brace. Everyone is telling me that the GNX type is much better than the cross bars. So...


1) Is there a difference between Kirban's and GBodyParts' ones?

2) This statement confused me: "This new brace will work with the partial rear seat brace kit, but you will have to completely remove two of the four rear seat braces. " What exactly would I have to cut? Anyone have any photos or diagrams?

I think they are referring to the tubular rear seat braces, If you have them installed. If you currently have nothing, you should be good to go. Nothing to cut.

I have the GNX brace from G-Body parts. I did not have any tubular braces beforehand and it went right in. You only need to drill holes for the bolts unless you are welding it in.

hello people; IMO you should go with the one pc. and not the tubes. I have the tubes I got years ago but I think the one pc. is stiffer welded or bolted. But with the one pc. do you drill into the trunk floor pan as I heard it extends into it? If so is the gas tank a problem?

I have the tubular kit that Im going to change out with the factory looking set up that I will weld in when I get the body back on the frame

Here's a quick shot I just took. You can see the bolts and what Ibby was mentioning about the floor. The bottom travels lower than the "gas tank" hump. Those bolts are very tricky to get after you drill the holes.
