How Much, if ANY oil is normal...

I removed my MAF - Turbo tube and found oil, some of which was in puddle form. I couldn't feel any play in the turbo shaft. Oil was also in the hose going into the IC and oil film was in the outbound hose, upper air pipe and TB inlet. Normal?

Do you have the breather line coming from the valve cover on there still? If so that could be one of the probs. Oil tends to migrate everywhere outta that hose. Take it off and put breathers on that should help. If you are still getting oil everywhere then the seals on the turbo may be bad.

If you mean that line that ran from the front of the passenger side valve cover, I've had a breather in that for years. Now that you mention it, black oil scuz tends to gather on parts of the intlet bell and turbo. Wonder if it originates from the breather. I think I may have to yank the unit (TA-49) and send it to the turbo guru, John Craig, US Navy (Retired) down there in Lake Heaven, AZ...
