Guys, I have been chasing a knock problem and was reading that if the maf number do not read 255 or maxed out at WOT that this will cause a lean condition. My car will only hit 230-240 at WOT. I have a TE-44, rjc megacooler, translator with 3in lt1 maf sensor. What should I do to get 255?

Verified your TV cable is in adjustment and getting maximum pull? Tried WOT MAF reading with floor mat removed from driver side? Any TR owners close to you that could loan you another MAF for another reference? Just some things to consider....

A TE44 should be able to easilly peg your maf readings, even as low as 15# of boost. My 87 (TA49) sure does!!!! (stock original maf).

What about your maf? correct one? reman'd?

Another thing to consider is TPS volts as I believe that the TT chip locks at 255 above the designated WOT TPS voltage. Someone else may want to confirm that.

As I stated in my first post I have a lt1 maf sensor with translator. Not sure what to do I have messed with these cars a long time and can't figure this one out.

Try turning up the WOT knob inside the Translator box. That will help it get to 255. I would try #5 and see what happens.

My bad. I didn't read much past the problem description. See what happens when you get past the big 60!

What kind of chip are you running? If it's an extender your maf readings are cut in 1/2.

Thanks for the tip! I installed an extender yesterday and couldn't figure out why my MAF readings were so low. I also have the LT-1 MAF/Translator. The manual that comes with the extender chip doesn't mention this.
