Im looking to improve or take preventive measures against the dreaded flare in the 1-2.

My T Type has a solid shifting 200r4 That was built by an unknown shop. Im positive that it may have none of the LARGE HIGH BOOST VALVES ect ..When i bought the car it had lots of old school stuff(blue tops,AC non LU,old red armstrong fuel parts) So i suspect that the rebuild is old school too. The car sat around for a long time before i got my hands on it. The trans runs very well other than the 2-1 clunk and 1-2 hangs up at low speed.Fluid looks great and it barks the tires in 2nd every time.

What should i do to improve the performance of this trans. I know to swap the current billet servo for a CK one to eliminate the 2-1 clunk, but what about other pressure mods to keep this thing shifting nice and no flares.

Ive been thu this many years ago with My GN trans and would like to prevent it.

Im about to start beating on this car but im trying to make things right before that.
Thanks

if the car is running super hi stall you may want to delete the 1/2 accumulator from the housing and only use thwe one inside the servo assembly.i would also use the .500 boost valve and updated pr spring ,or my complete recalibration kit .it raises pressure with throttle angle in direct relationship ,unbiased.
