Do your own work, focus on one upgrade at a time get it right and go to the next one....Alky/Meth injection is the way to go on a Turbo Regal -best bang for the buck.

Sounds like your guy has all the bases covered. What are doing asking questions here??

Sorry to hear of all your woo's but I would start at basics and insure everything else was square ie.. compression, fuel psi, timing, and for god sakes insure you have good circuits (grounds) Mine was doing wierd stuff (shifts, alky not responding, hick up'ing) and after fixing one ground she went from lame to a fire breathing monster again. Can you list the full build so we can have more insight to include IAC location, upgrades, running MAF? we're here to help; but stand by for remarks cause some people have nothing better to do.

Why run 91 octane when you can find 93 / 94 octane readily.
I'm in Canada too & run Petro Canada 94 (which used to be Sunoco 94 Gold).

20psi with no knock (pump gas only / no achy).

I'm sure you can find gas with this higher octane in abundance in your province.

Also, why do you have a fast system? You Can Easily run a high 9 low 10 without it. I would sell it and get injectors and matching chip, scanmaster, and just other stuff you don't have.

Try contacting Morretto Motorsportz (bought Campbell Automotive a few years ago) in Edmonton. They had a mechanic there named Nolan who was big into Sy/Ty's and GN's and had a good reputation.
Don Campbell built my motor a few years ago but I think he has retired.

You still have 4 months of winter ahead of you so read everything you can on this site especially posts from Nick Micale, Bison, Turbobob and the other tech advisors. Also read everything on Vortex Buick site.

You really need to become self sufficient up here, it is a small community and everyone I have met does as much of their own work as possible. Once you have studied as much as you can you know what you are comfortable tackling yourself and when it makes sense to contact a vendor.

Very accurate ..

I taught a customer in 3 months (who has never seen a GN in person up until he bought one) what needs to be done and how to do it .. what parts... what tools.. how to replace the parts...
and most important .. HOW to TUNE these cars... Some guys listen and can learn .. thus they will reap the rewards ...

He spent some time on here looking at combinations and posts ... and after seeing real world results .. he has come back and come to the same conclusion as most will.... its not the parts that make them go fast ..
he is making about 150 rwhp more than the OP's 275 .. with the parts I listed above.. He had less than $1200 in parts and his own time in labor. The car runs EASY 11's all day ..
at that power level the stock trans @ 120K miles gave up ... I hooked him up with a freshly rebuilt 200 with convertor ... and he has about $2500 total into his car .

He has beat on this car for 2 years now... and has 100's of passes ... he always jokes with me now .. " How do these guys get these cars to go that slow "
On the flip side .. I have had customers that I spent 20 years with that still CAN NOT tune their cars and struggle to even make the cars run well ( this is because they feel PARTS are the answer and half ass the important things). Tuning isn't for everyone .. its not that its hard but its just one of those things you have to sit down and LEARN.

I'm sorry you are having problems with your car but i have yet seen you answer what chip are your running? What are your 02's etc.?

I took my son's bone stock GN running mid 14's to high 11's - low 12's with minimal mods and spent less than $1200.00 doing it.

As everyone has stated read the forum and ask questions. Good luck

Oops my bad he did say he had a FAST system. I have one of those myself and I have a street car! :)

I remember someone stating in this thread that it is a waste to put a FAST on a street car to get rid of it? My '86 is a mid 11 sec car, maybe low 11's if I pushed it. The tuning is so much easier with a FAST and no MAF needed so I disagree with that statement.

Getting back to the OP's car maybe he needs to revisit his tune?

You have a FAST on a mid 11 second car .. REALLY ? Easier to tune than a chipped car at that power level ? Come on dude .. be real

That's a total waste of money on a mid 11 second car

I beg to differ with you Sir. The WB and getting rid of the MAF is good with me and yes much easier to tune. And if I grow it gives me room to grow. I could push my car to the 10's if I wanted. I already am working on a new combo I have upgraded to aluminum heads, roller rockers, steel crank, 63 turbo 83lb injectors etc. etc. I have not ran the new combo yet but low 11 taking it easy and mid to high 10's if I want. Still a street car with no bar.

How many more years are the stock MAF's going to be available? LS MAF's with a Translator? tried that. SD chip those sound cool but I already have the FAST from Cal.

You have your opinion I have mine.
