Is there a tutorial on how to remove our floor carpet? I want to peel it back a bit to rustproof my floor plans. Besides removing the seats, what else do I have to do?

Door sill protectors and sometimes the front and rear rockers which I for got to add. The carpet pretty much just lays in after all that's removed. The padding may be glued down under the carpet so that may be a pain to deal with.

AH. Got it. Thank you again. Can't wait. It's been a major source of stress for me. Gotta protect my honey.

I am looking to do the same this winter.
I will also add a layer of Dynamat or similar product.
Please post what products you use/tools and any advice once you finish!
Thanks! :)

It's pretty much what everyone has been saying, and here are some pictures of my carpet replacement.
After removing the old carpet and padding, I inspected the floor pan, rustproof it, and started to lay back the padding.
I place the old carpet on top of the new one (this was done in the summer time to allow the carpet to roll out), and leave some extra inches to cut since the old one might have shrink, and you can fine cut to fit once you have the carpet installed to be trim.

I uses a 4" grinder with a wire wheel kit I got from Sears. That pretty much knocked the rust off. Then used the POR-15. It's importation to follow all the steps with that so that it goes on properly. Prep is the hardest part. Remove the carpet completely is my best advise don't try to fold it. As for the acoustic material dynamat
Or the Eastwood pads are great. Also you do not need to cover the whole floor with that stuff.
If you put it in the right locations it will do what you need it to do with just a few pads.

Eastwood Thermocoustic is good and seems light weight - Not for overhead application tho'. Their big box is about 33 sq. ft. - covers 4x8. Internet specials run most of the time - sometimes 10% off or special price or free shipping and sometimes a combination of discounts. Sign up with email address and your inbox will be filled.

1.5" or 2" rubber covered rollers are available at art supply stores (ink brayers) that are tougher than the Eastwood model. Knotted up rags & a buffing BOB helped get the rubberized membrane down into valleys.
