How to safely remove chrome rockers??

I have a Limited which has the think (6" or so tall) chrome rockers running along the lower sides of the car. I want to remove them to pull out a few dings and then reinstall.

Has anyone done this and what is the best method? There are no screws so is it a matter of pulling and prying which kind of scares me.

Using a piece of plastic strapping material under the molding,start @ one end & with a sawing motion,work your way to the other end.No damage! Neat trick!
