I am having trouble with the adaptor that screws into the top of the turbo, that the braided line screws onto. It want's to leak bad around the threads. I thighten it up and it still leaks, so I thighten it some more and it striped out:mad: How do you guy's keep it from leaking. BTW I order a new one today and it was 22 dollars:rolleyes: I do not want to strip this one out, any tips will help!!:) Or, could I have it welded in if the new one will not seal?

I had this exact problem with my BB turbo. You must use a wrench on the restrictor fitting when you attach the oil feed line. Otherwise you'll tighten the restrictor fitting too tight and strip it. If it still leaks you can safely use Permatex high temperature thread sealant. It comes in a little white tube with red lettering. It'll cake in there when the turbo comes up to temperature.

FYI my turbo came new from the factory with faulty bearings causing the initial leak. When troubleshooting PTE recommended using the above sealer. That stopped the leak, but the turbo seized. PTE fixed it under warranty no problem. HTH

I kept tighting it trying to get it to quit leaking it never quit then it finally striped out. I ordered a new one today from pte. Why do they not make this out of brass or better material:rolleyes: If the new one strips out I might try some JB weld. What do ya think?

Yup.

That fitting leaked on my new GT 62-65 DBL bb turbo. Two full wraps of teflon tape fixed it.

There is definitely room for improvement. With a new fitting and the repaired turbo, I put the fitting in dry and had no leaks. It's really easy to overtighten.

Always use a thread sealant or teflon tape on a pipe thread. Don't even question it. You see a pipe thread, get the T tape.
