i tryed to bend it down, and way from the frame, but it keeps hitting it. and it also appears to be hitting the spare tire area. since i cant afford a new exhaust system at this time, is there anything that i can put between the pipe and the frame hitting? i think this is causing some false knock for me. not sure though, but its definatly hitting, so might as well start there. some one suggested putting a piece of tire in there, but wouldnt that melt?

any help is apperciated.

thanks

Can you try to loosen the mounts a bit and move it over(have a helper hold it where it needs to be) and tighten it up? Maybe it will stay where it needs to go.

If that won't work you can dent the pipe in the area a little where it hits but this would be a last resort thing.

I don't think the burning rubber smell that the tire method would offer would be as pleasing as if it was your actual car tires smoking. :D

humm, well, looking at this exhaust system, it dosent really seem to be bolted in anywhere... it looks like who ever made it (its a custom job, i can tell by the lack of welding skills and its press bent) looks like they welded a piece of metal by the Cat and then bolted it too the tranny mount. then by the mufflers it looks like they made some hangers and used the stock location hanging points on the trunk floor. and if you look at this area it looks like its just resting in there, not being held in there with anything really....

Maybe run it by a custom exhaust place and see what they can do with it. You can fix just about anything with a smoke wrench.

Depending on how much room you have, a rubber shock bushing wedged between the pipe and frame woks good. They are available at the parts store in the HELP section for a couple bucks.
