First off, I'm talking off of the car. Talking about the ball and spring kind. This is the idea I have and please tell me if you think this would work.

Here is what the setup should look like.

Ok, so when the controller sees the "set" boost pressure it blows the ball off the seat and allows the "set" pressure to exit the outlet to the Wastegate actuator. Correct?

I want to mock this up on the workbench. Let's say that I put compressed air that is regulated to 20psi to the inlet of the controller. I then adjust the screw until 20psi will not blow the ball off the seat and allow air to flow thru the outlet side. Then back off the screw until it does let the 20 psi thru. A boost gauge hooked to the outlet side.

SO, If I have 20 psi going in and 20 psi going out to the boost gauge, would that mean I'd have 20 psi if I put it on the car at this setting?

TIA

Cool, that's why I was asking, cause I don't think of everything. :D

Can you think of anyway to do it?

maybe figure out the spring pressure you have then add it to the tested pressure and that should be close. say 7lb spring plus 13 pounds on your tester equals 20 lbs boost. try that it should be close i would think

Haven't been able to figure out how to mock it up yet, but I guess it doesn't matter, I just like learning how things work.

I thought I maybe be able to pull the hose off the turbo on the car and hook the regulated 20 psi of pressure to that line with the air compressor and see if it opened the actuator, but it didn't work.

I assume I can re create the same amount of PSI out of the air compressor, but not the volume the turbo makes.

Oh well.

I also tried to do something like ur set up but on the car. tried to see where to adjust and was looking at inlet pressure and pressure going to the wastegate before the valve started to open.... couldnt figure it out.

Anyone know how to adjust it with it installed? I figure if you restrict the pressure going to the wastegate the wastegate may not open all the way? overboost?
