How would you feel if you paid $200 for this piece of crap?

A vendor who will remain nameless sent me this "work of art" which at one time might have been a Buick header panel. In a week's time 2 emails and a phone call have gone unanswered, yet he somehow still finds time to answer requests for "Parts Wanted" on this board. You know who you are, and you can either make the situation right or I will dispute the charges with my credit card company. It's your choice.

Look at the pictures. The header panel in question came with BOTH of the lower mounting brackets sheared off and cracks in two spots in the front. Strange thing is, NONE of the broken/missing pieces were in the box. It doesn't take a genius to figure out this part was junk BEFORE IT WAS EVEN SENT. For pictures click on the link below and see the "header panel" album.

Thanks, both are for sale if interested. :) Got too many toys. I've even got a WW2 bayonet that fits on them. I was ready to use it to commit hari-kari when I opened up the box and saw my header panel.

I don't know what's worse.. the vendor screwing you, or you not telling us who it is so we can avoid them.

Good luck, and let us know who it is, if you have indeed exhausted all opportunities. The Good/Bad trader list is there for a reason. :D

Nice touch putting the pics with some of your weapons.....should get the point across.:D

With the fear of sounding like a liberal, why do we have these SOB's screwing people all the time. Isn't anyone good for their word anymore?:(

It's just sad.

Well we know it wasn't Mike McCoy because I was at his house when he boxed up the gold header panel and sent it out to you.

Id be curious as to who it was as well There's a dude on ebay or used to be (rivky770) that used to sell header panels cheap new but who knows how good they are

D"OH!!!

yeah that piece is crap! you shoyld shove it back up that guys a$$!! nice M1 by the way.

Ben:
That is the worst looking header panel that I have ever seen.
I can not believe that people sell that type of crap and get by with it. How long are you giving that crook before you give up his name. It is really a shame that hard working people such as yourself have to go through this. I am hoping that the smuck that sold you that header panel is in the process of making amends with you. If not, I am sure that his name will be on this thread shortly. Along with his picture inset in a standard 100 meter big bore target. For 50 cal.?
I just can't believe how many richards there are selling parts on this board.

The gentleman that sold me the header panel has contacted me and indicated that he wishes to take care of the situation. I am always willing to provide someone the opportunity to make things right. That was why I didn't mention names or start a crap slinging contest. That type of thing is an absolute last resort, and even then usually resorts in mostly finger pointing and very little resolution of the actual problem at hand. I try to stick by the "Going Fast with Class" motto even though the Irish temper makes me far from perfect (just ask anyone that knows me) and a gal once told me I was the biggest SOB to ever walk the planet. ;) ;)

I wasn't getting a response and was hoping that since I didn't mention the gentleman's name someone close to him that didn't even know he was the one that sold this part, might make a post here that would encourage him to respond and do what is correct. Maybe that was the case, or maybe not. It doesn't matter now because I have been contacted and believe the gentleman sincerely feels badly about the part I received and will do the correct thing. In fairness, I will say that the other parts I received from him were exactly as described and look nice. The header panel was only one part of the order, but alas the most important piece.

I own a business and I have made mistakes and even lost a customer or two along the way despite trying my best to do everything within my power to make things right. Sometimes a deal just goes bad. While I don't believe this part should have ever gone out the front door, I also know that every now and then every car maker lets one out the door that shouldn't have made it. Hopefully this is just one of those cases of a "Monday" part. ;) ;)

them header pannels are in junk yards all over the place down here, i could prolly pick up a half a dozzen of them if needed.

equalizer, where is "down here"? Just curious since believe it or not here in the Los Angeles area there is nothing to be had. You should see the looks I get from the guys at the local wrecking yards. You would think I was asking for a crankshaft and rods for a Dussenberg. The body shop my car is in has it out on the locate system at all the local wrecking yards and still no dice.

in VA, roanoke to be exact, so far ive spotted 4 regals in 2 local yards but i havent checked them out yeat and the biggest of the yards is SURE to have alot more them the 1 regal i seen setting next to the gate. i know for sure one is a 82 so you can scratch that one off your list but im 85% positive the others are the noses like we would need.

Wherever "down here" is, (u can add it to your profile) sure, you see Regals in boneyards, and some times you may find a good header......but most times they are damaged and broken. I don't bother to sell them because it costs about $50 to ship and they are hard to find a box for. Selling big parts are more problems than they're worth IMO.
