hello peoples: Any of youz experiment with TP on a 245-50 tire and a 16 x 8 rim for the street? I never have but I do run 35 lbs all around and on some bumpy roads it's like a buckboard.

I noticed a huge difference going from the stock 215/65-15 Eagle GTs to 255/50-16 (all the way around) Comp T/As. The ride was much firmer, however I didn’t notice any difference stepping up to 17s.
Generally when I go to a different tire size or if towing something different I’ll chalk up the inside and outside 1” of the tread. I’ll drive how it’s going to be driven and check the wear pattern.
I like to see the chalk worn to 1/4” of the edge, but the same could be done with a temperature gun. Check the temp on the inside edge, outside edge and the center. For even treadwear the temps would be the same.

If you’re looking for a smoother ride you could drop to a lower speed rating.

Lower speed rating = softer sidewall.
