hello peoples: Any of youz experiment with TP on a 245-50 tire and a 16 x 8 rim for the street? I never have but I do run 35 lbs all around and on some bumpy roads it's like a buckboard.

I noticed a huge difference going from the stock 215/65-15 Eagle GTs to 255/50-16 (all the way around) Comp T/As. The ride was much firmer, however I didn’t notice any difference stepping up to 17s.
Generally when I go to a different tire size or if towing something different I’ll chalk up the inside and outside 1” of the tread. I’ll drive how it’s going to be driven and check the wear pattern.
I like to see the chalk worn to 1/4” of the edge, but the same could be done with a temperature gun. Check the temp on the inside edge, outside edge and the center. For even treadwear the temps would be the same.
If you’re looking for a smoother ride you could drop to a lower speed rating.
My back is shot at 28 psi. in 235/60/15 hence the aftermarket seat.
Nittos out back like 26 psi. or you will wear out the center "grooves" too soon.
I bet your ground clearance is good at 35.
hello peoples: I went down to 33 lbs. and there is a difference in ride quality for the good. I'm going to go to 32 and see what' happens. I do have Z rated tires.

That’s cool.
Did you happen to put chalk on the tread to check how the tires are wearing?
The tire pressure with different width wheels will need to be different for the same tire size.
A narrow wheel will give the tire a rounded tread area and need a lower pressure to flatten out the tread.
I like a wider wheel to flatten out the tread area so I can run higher pressure to keep the tire more stable for better cornering and a firmer ride.
It seems every setup is a little different as well as our personal preferences.
Here’s a 295/35-18 on a 10 1/2” wide wheel. Max pressure is 51, but I like 45.
