Tony, the motor was rebuilt right? Was it done correctly?Maybe the knock is internal noise the knock sensor is picking up.Maybe somethings hitting under the frame, mostlikly exhaust.Should check your grounds too and what about the interface of the tranny wiring to the 700R4 I think you have to rewire the lockup.Im think it not just plug and play with the TTA harness.

darren, the motor was rebuilt, by a guy that owns his own GN shop, i trust him, but please don't tell me that knock is internal lol

as for the lock-up...that's a good theory, i'll have to look into that....i'm bringing the car up to Steve's(TTA850) next saturday, in goes a T+ and LT1 MAF, and we're gonna play around with some things, i personally think it's the ECM.

Now, i have a thrasher 92 chip...that disables the EGR right? well ughhh well...i got a code 32 twice the other day, but that's it...now if the EGR isn't fuctional why would the ECM care? I have the EGR blocked because i couldnt find the correct bracket..

I was thinking that the tranny was locking up in the lower rpms making the motor bog and activating the knock sensor.I think if you have no egr it has to be programmed into th chip.and if it is it will eliminate throwing codes too. This could be adding to your delemma.By the way do you like driving the car with the 700R4?

well besides the fact that my 700r4 is toast yeah its fine lol

about the EGR....doesn't the trasher chip eliminate the use of the EGR???

i guess i'll find out more this upcoming saturday, but if u guys have anymore info/advice please post it :):):)

nope, a guy in Texas...though if i were to ever get a turbo 3.8 rebuilt around here i'd be one of those guys :)

Hey put a translator andLT1 MAF put on, change the fuel pump, put an adjustible regulator on, and check for something hitting, like the downpipe or anything of the sort. This will solve 80% of yopur problems. The wanting to die coming to a stop, could be the IAC acting up, mine did recently on my 86 and a new one stopped the problem.
