You brothers of the South be safe! Looks like N.O. is gonna get hit again!

We are in central MS about 3 hrs from the gulf coast. I know you can never fully prepare for these things but I think my house is ok.

Close to Tunica? I know the guy that own's the Case IH dealership there:cool:

I'm going to be happy about the rain (In the summer, I spend more on water per month than I do on gasoline), but Gasoline WILL go back over $4/gallon and LA is going to be seriously messed up.

I went thru 2 Hurricane Evacuations in SC that turned into nothing, but there is no way this one won't cause serious damage.

Anybody who stays in areas of New Orleans flooded by Katrina for this one is a certified dumbass and is up for a Darwin award.

Best of luck to all the folks in it's path. It's rough to think you guys are going to be slammed again. Take care.

I left at midnight, took 14hrs to drive what normally takes 9hrs. Never went over 40 for the first half of the trip. Everybody is getting out. I really think I'm gonna lose my house to the flood. I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.

But you prepared for the worst and got out!! Smart move.

Good luck to all the Gulf Coast people. I've been through Andrew, Katrina, Wilma and many more. Whether its a strong tropical storm or a CAT5, the area goes nuts and its a trying time. I'm still fixing things from Wilma. Best wishes.

Damon, glad you made it to your destination. Think positive about your house.

We are hunkered down over here.

Im staying here n Gulfport/Orange Grove area.
My house faired fine with Katrina I am WAY north of the hydraulic line and at a high elevation.
Only thing that I fear is the tornadoes and wind shear causing trees to fall on the crib and or rip the roof or other things off.

Somehouses did fine in my neighborhood for Katrina and others did not wind damage then water from that wise. We'll see....
I moved here form South Fla a few years back and have been through more hurricanes than I care to mention there And of course i have all the supplys, H20, food, propane, candle, etc etc.
The wife split she is working outta town so its me and the animals. just a waiting game now.

Out for a bit today and people were freaking out, driving stupid... flying thru parking lots literally like a bunch a roaches... since everything was closed and they waited to the last minute.
You can put it on TV, in books, etc and folks still wont have the hurricane supplies ready for the season.

Trying to think positive, but I'm only about three miles from Lake Ponchatrain. Not too worried about wind damage. But I am worried about that storm surge.

Ed, stay safe. Call me tomorrow with an update!

And you have not left yet:confused:

Looks like they have a grip on the possible looters. Stright to general pop. That was funny.

No..he(Turbo6) left already. He is way up north. His house is located by the lake.

Damon I will call if we have cell service after the storm.

The eye is supposed to pass thru my city in about 6 hours from now. Wind is kicking right now about 20-30 mph...not even close to what its gonna be doing when that eye gets here. I been thru all the bad ones Andrew, Lili, Rita, Danny, etc... I will try and post some pics after it passes. I can say with 100% certainty we will be without power for days, but I will fire up the generator and be in touch with everyone.

Ed

Nothing but 30mph winds and rain here in Jackson MS. Lights went out for an hour but thats it. We're ok.

Jason
